Join us for an immersive dance experience for intermediate and advanced teen dancers with a ballet background. Dancers train in a wide range of styles and approaches that reflect the professional dance world today including: body work and conditioning to develop a deeper sense of body awareness and long-lasting and healthy movement practices; rigorous and invigorating classical ballet technique, pointe work, character and repertory; modern and contemporary technique, and cultural styles; workshops in injury prevention, partnering, ballet pedagogy, and choreography; The intensive culminates in a showing for family and friends.

Pre-Requisites: Students must be the minimum age on June 1 to participate. For classical ballet technique classes, students must have taken intermediate or advanced level classical ballet for the previous three years, including pointe or pre-pointe (minimum 2-3 classes per week). Students who have questions about eligibility or prior experience should e-mail Dance Division Supervisor, Kathryn Wilkening, at kathryn.wilkening@nashville.gov.
