Z. Alexander Looby Theater | 2301 Rosa L. Parks Blvd, Nashville TN
Centennial Youth Ballet of the Metro Parks Dance Division presents Swan Lake and Other Works at the Z. Alexander Looby Theater located at 2301 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
Join us by the enchanted lake where Prince Siegfried first meets the Swan Queen Odette and her companions. The evil sorcerer Von Rothbart has cast a spell to turn them into swans and they can only return to their human form at night. But the spell can be broken if Siegfried, who has never loved before, pledges his love to Odette forever. However, Von Rothbart has a trick up his sleeve! He transforms his daughter Odile into a semblance of Odette and sends her to a great ball where Siegfried is to find his bride. Siegfried is enraptured thinking he has found Odette again and he and Odile dance an entrancing pas de deux.
Swan Lake is expertly staged by Katie Eliason Kropf and Daniella Parisot and Act II will be accompanied by live music. The mixed-bill concert also includes a new contemporary piece by Daniella Parisot and “The Thread,” an original piece by senior Mimi Michel. All pieces have been beautifully costumed by Christen Heilman.
