EMMA MORRISON
Emma Morrison is a Nashville based freelance performer, teacher and maker. She has worked with choreographers such as Roy Assaf, Yin Yue, Brian Arias, Rosie Herrara and more. Emma's primary creative focus is centered around how to support and grow the local Nashville dance scene. She has collaborated with local collectives such as Asia Pyron’s PYDANCE, and she is one of the founding members of Nashville dance company New Dialect, as a performer, collaborator, rehearsal assistant to the artistic director, and community and company class teacher. In 2022, Emma helped found Garage Collective, a site-specific and improvisation-based project in Nashville, TN. Emma's chorographic ventures focus on dance, dance theater, and opera. Emma and her frequent collaborator, Mckay House, were selected to perform their latest work "There Goes The Point" at Kindling Arts Festival in Nashville, TN, Ladyfest in Charlotte, NC, and the Future Dance Festival in NYC in 2022. Most recently Emma was the recipient of the Animata Arts residency in Nashville, TN. Emma has been teaching early childhood movement and contemporary dance with the Metro Parks Dance Division since 2013. She has been a teaching artist with students at Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, MTSU, TSU, and University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and The Nashville School of the Arts. |
